Ask an Autistic : Presume Competence, Expect Nothing

Have you heard some people say "Ask an autistic"? Many of us are indeed willing to engage in conversation with non-autistics about our experiences (provided that non-autistics have done their research and have sensible and legitimately interesting questions to share). However, it is crucial be mindful and cognizant of the fact that non all autistics will want to engage with you in debate or conversation - autistics are neither here to provide unlimited sources of education nor to fulfill a specific role as imagined by neurotypical people. We are here existing, mostly surviving at the pheripheries with other underepresented groups. Presume competence, yes, expect nothing. We don't owe you a thing.
